| Meerkat orphans snuggle up to cuddly toy Posted: 01 Dec 2009 08:32 AM PST  Picture by Caters These five baby meerkats lost their mom shortly after they were born. Owner Steve Rowlands decided to give them a cuddly toy with a hot water bottle inside, to recreate some motherly experience for the little babies... 'The babies are a month old now and they lost their mum just two days after they were born,' said Mr Rowlands. 'We bought the toy to try and lessen the trauma for them and try and make things as natural as possible. We put it in with them and they just snuggled up to it like it was their mother.'
